With my birthday coming up I was thinking how can I stay lean and eat all the cake I want. I started experimenting and found a way to make a delicious cake with frosting that will keep the gains intact and the bodyfat low.

I really liked this cake, feel free to experiment with this one yourselfs and let me know what you think! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

What you need for the cake:

  • 200 grams of whole wheat flour.

  • 3 scoops of whey protein.

  • 2 eggs.

  • 1 tea spoon of baking powder.

  • 150 grams of greek yoghurt (0% fat).

  • 50 grams of grass fed butter.

  • 1 table spoon of honey.

  • Blue berries (optional).

  • Strawberries (optional).

What you need for the frosting:

  • 200 grams of cream cheese (light).

  • 3 scoops of whey protein.

  • A splash of almond milk ( unsweetened)

Directions for the cake:

  1. Mix the whole wheat flour, whey protein and baking powder in a bowl.

  2. Mix all wet ingredients in a bowl. If the butter just came out of the fridge you can microwave it for a couple of seconds.

  3. Mix the wet and dry ingredient togother in a large bowl and stir well. This is your cake batter.

  4. Take a big cake tin and add a thin layer of butter on the inside, this prevent the cake from sticking. If you don't want to use butter you can perfectly use a non-stick cooking spray like Pam spray.

  5. Add the cake batter to the cake tin and bake for 25 min on 180 degrees celsius.

Directions for the frosting:

  1. Mix the whey protein and cream cheese in bowl and add a splash of unsweetened almond milk. Stir well untill smooth and put in the fridge for at least 3 hours.

  2. After 3 hours the thick frosting can be spread out over the cake.

Tip: you can add the blue berries, strawberries or some crushed nuts into the cake batter to spice it up a bit.

I use grass fed butter because the fat is just a lot healthier than your regular butter. It has a higher content of CLA and is higher in unsaturated fatty acids. This makes grass fed butter the more heart healthy option.
